Children who suffer from both attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and epilepsy can safely take Concerta, Harvard researchers have found. Children with ADHD have a high risk of epilepsy, but immediate-release ADHD drugs have yielded mixed results in previous studies. Concerta, an extended-release drug, did not induce seizures in children with both conditions, and there were no serious adverse events related to the use of the drug.
