Concerta harder to abuse than Ritalin, study finds

Concerta may be less likely to be abused than other attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) drugs like Ritalin, a new study confirms. Both Concerta and Ritalin contain the same active ingredient, methylphenidate. The extended-release delivery system of Concerta reduces the chance that the drug will produce euphoria or "highs." This makes Concerta less of a drug-abuse risk than immediate-release ADHD drugs like Ritalin. Read more »
