TV, internet use linked to obesity, ADHD in kids

A large new study has found that too much media exposure can harm kids’ health. Investigators from the National Institutes of Health, Yale, and the California Pacific Medical Center examined 173 studies conducted since 1980 that assessed the effects that may come from exposure to television, video games, and computers. Media exposure—particularly TV--was linked most often to obesity in kids, but studies also suggested that it increased the risk for smoking, drug and alcohol abuse, sexual behavior, and ADHD.
