Obama's health secretary pick vows healthcare reform

Former senator Tom Daschle, President-elect Obama's pick for head of the Health and Human Services Department, has said he will learn from the mistakes made by the Clinton administration in its attempts to reform the U.S. healthcare system. Daschle called that administration's process "secretive," "hard to understand," and too lengthy. He has vowed that if chosen to be health secretary, the healthcare reform process will be aggressive and open, and it will move quickly to improve care while lowering costs.
