Generic ADHD meds just as good as name brand: experts

Parents should be aware that generic versions of ADHD drugs are as safe and effective as name-brand meds, a new Consumer Reports Best Buy Drugs report has found. The article states that free trials of name-brand drugs such as Adderall XR, Strattera, and Concerta may falsely lead parents to believe that their ADHD child would benefit only from the name-brand drug, when generic versions of dextroamphetamine and methylphenidate are as effective, and could save parents thousands of dollars per year.
