Could neurofeedback cure ADHD?

Some experts believe it is possible to "retrain" the brain to stay focused--a technique they say may cure attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The controversial neurofeedback (or EEG) treatment involves hooking a child up to brain-registering machinery that registers attention. When the child's attention wanders, a neurofeedback technician encourages him to regain focus. Some critics say the treatment is too expensive for most people, and they question whether it is really useful. But other health experts say that clinical and anecdotal evidence suggests neurofeedback may be useful for many children.  Read full story >
