Internet addiction linked to ADHD, depression in teens

Teenagers who are depressed or who have attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are more at risk for internet addiction, a new survey has found. Boys in Eastern nations were found to be particularly at risk, though experts found internet addiction was gaining among teens in the United States as well. The study's researchers say that for depressed or ADHD kids, the fast-paced environment of the web can serve as a creative or social outlet. But they point out that internet addiction can devastate families and make it even harder for teens to develop healthy habits and relationships.   Read full story >
