Plastics tied to aggression in young girls

The plastics chemical bisphenol A (BPA) may be linked to aggression and hyperactivity in young girls, a new study suggests. The study, published in Environmental Health Perspectives, found that girls subjected to the highest levels of BPA around the time of birth were more likely to have behavior problems at age two than girls who had lower exposure. The study's authors say they aren't sure why there is a gender difference to BPA, and they stress that their results aren't conclusive, but they suggest that staying away from BPA is still a healthy choice in general.  Read full story >
