Childhood ADHD linked to criminal behavior in adults

A new study has found that children who have attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) may be more likely to commit criminal acts as adults. The study of 10,000 teens found that those who had ADHD were twice as likely to commit theft later in life, and were 50 percent more likely to sell drugs. Researchers at the Yale School of Public Health say next they plan to study whether drug treatments for ADHD reduce the risk of later criminal behavior, and whether the criminal activity may be prompted by reduced employment and earnings.
