Folate levels in pregnancy tied to ADHD

Low folate levels in pregnancy may increase a child's risk of developing attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), experts say. The study backs up evidence that links folic acid to the growth of a fetus' nervous system. Researchers also found that low levels of folate was associated with a smaller head size in babies--a trait that could indicate a slower rate of prenatal brain development.   Read full story >
