But it is important to address issues of alcohol and substance abuse as soon as you see signs. Talk to your teen and let them know what you suspect and why you suspect it. Let your teen know you expect to know whom they are with, where they are, what they are doing and when they are doing it. Keeping tabs on your teens is not invading their privacy, it is being a parent. Addressing concerns early may help to prevent problems later.
