Thank you for this information. I just went in a room and cried at work because my child's dermatologist has ordered a chest x ray for my daughter's chronic hives that she got after two viruses back to back. She's had them for about 10 weeks now. I called the doctors back and couldn't get a live person to answer about what they are screening for. This at least answered my question.

She is otherwise very full of life, her hives don't itch, and she has had trouble gaining weight because she was breastfed to 18 months and has some attachment/anxiety with me (Mom) being away at work. She also had some moderate anemia, and we were not giving her vitamins because that was a huge battle. She has had them now every day for about a month.
She has made a great rebound and is eating really well these days. I hope these hives just go away. I am an absolute wreck over it! She is the most adorable kid in the world and I can't stand imagining anything big being wrong with her.
