Nasonex side effects

By massue Thursday, November 08, 2007

Happened to come across web site written by allergy sufferers or a family member of allergy sufferer (like for their child) concerning side effects of Nasonex.  Wow!  I have this drug but kept forgetting to use it.  I didn't use it and Monday night slept 10 hours, like I haven't done in a very, very long time.  Used Nasonex Tuesday because I remembered it, and Tuesday night, I fought for sleep.  Wednesday night, did not use Nasonex all day, slept from around 10:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.   Used it this morning and now wondering what kind of night's sleep I will have.  I have started feeling more clear-headed.  Not foggy.  Nose hasn't been running.  Was outside quite a bit today.   Of course, now that I write this I sit here sneezing.  My question would be, are the side effects from taking a steroid like Nasonex worth using it?   I'm hesitant to use it at all, feeling that if just taking Singulair and Zyrtec will help, why use more?

Hi Massue,

I did some searching on the site and found this article about Nasonex, but it doesn't really list sleeplessness as a side efffect. Is it possible you should change the time of day you use nasonex to the morning so it has the full day to wear off the effects?

I have never used Nasonex, but I did use Rhinacort for a time. I did not have the sleeplessness issue, but those steroids tend to dry me out too much.

Good luck and let us know how you're doing!

Try this:

These were comments by users of Nasonex, above and beyond what the drug company lists for any side effects.  Yes, I tried using it in the morning, but right now, the Singulair and Zyrtec seem to be working so well, why use one more drug if I don't have to?

I'm up now because I can't fall back to sleep after waking up with a serious panic attack. My heart was racing so fast I thought I was having a heart attack. I also have a upper respiratory infection and I just got over one a few weeks ago. One of my nostrils are so stuffed up that it feels as if a wod of cotton is stuck in it. I've had a headache almost everyday and when I went to the Doctor to find out what the hell is going on with me, I was told the my blood pressure was elevated. I put two and two together and after doing some research on this drug, I've thrown it in the garbage. I Don't recommend this drug to anyone. Too many side effects.
