I suffer from chronic & severe allergies. The weird thing is that they only effect me when I am sitting. If I am moving around I'm otherwise fine. When I sit for as few as 15 mins, I'll start to experience symptoms. The longer I sit, the the greater the symptoms. Symptoms include:stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing, chest congestion, severe bloating, irritated glands on either side of my hard palate in my mouth, skin irritation and itchy skin breakouts. While the breakouts occur on various parts of my body, they occur mostly on my face. When I begin to move around the symptoms diminsih. If I haven't been sitting long, they go away quickly... I've seen all sorts of specialists and no one has any answers. I'd greatly appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction.

Hello Cynthia,
I have to tell you, I don't know that I have ever heard anything like what you are experiencing. It seems so strange that you would be affected when you sit down. The only thing I can remotely thing of, is that when you sit, you are close to the allergins that are triggering the reaction. Like if you sit on a particular spot on the couch and the couch has some dust mites on it. Then within the 15 minutes or so, your body would begin to react to the dust mites. Something like that. It might benefit you to have your house ducts cleaned to help minimize the dust if that seems to be an issue for you?
Here is some information to help you check your symptoms and look at the various treatments available. It might benefit you to begin immunotherapy, or allergy shots. These are things you might want to discuss with your doctor. While online sites are great for information that will help you ask all the right questions, they can not take the place of your doctor's sound medical advice and care.
Take care and stay in touch! Let us know how you are doing!
