and now 4 years later I went to an ent/allergy specialist and found taht I am allergic to dog, cat , white oak, eucalyptus and various others. I am sooo distressed b/c for the last 7 months I have been burping a lot. It is driving me crazy. On average 20 times an hour.
This made me see a allergist who said that I must be swallowing air b/c my nose is clogged. This seems to make sense to me but not to my boyfriend so I sometimes think I'm crazy for believing this could be causing my burps. Well I have been taking allergy shots for about 2 months now and have had no negative side affects and no relief, but the doctor said I probably won't see any change until the 4th month. so I've been waiting and waiting.
Now I am writing this b/c I want to know if anyone else knows anything about burping b/c of allergies or b/c your nose is clogged, does this sound right to anyone?
second after reading a post about negative side affects from the shot, I'm getting a little freaked out. I also wonder why people are getting the shot for 5 years and up. I was told I would only be getting 1 shot a week for the first year and 1 shot a month for the second year so I was hoping it would all be rapped up in 2 years?? does anyone know how long one should be getting the allergy shot for? is it a life time thing? and could your allergy's get worse after stopping the shot??
Please help anyone!

Allergies come on at anytime no matter your age. As for your nose being congested and the dr telling you you're swallowing air and burping, probably wrong. Because you are currently suffering from allergies normal reaction is to think that all your problems are stemming from the same cause again wrong. Air is swallowed when we eat.
Your most likely cause of constant burping is most likely due to acid reflux or hiatal hernia which is the stomach diaphram pertruding up to your chest. You need to speak to your gp and get your stomach tested. Your stomach has nothing to do with your nose. As for your nose always being congested that is due to the allergens, you should use flonase or nasonex for a period of two to three months straight and see if it helps.
well i saw a gastro doctor before the allergy doctor, and i described my symptoms and everything and he said he would do and endoscopy but he really doesn't think it has anything to do with my stomach or acid reflux since the burps are just air, they don't have any taste to them. So he recommended an ENT, so thats where Im at now,
Thank you for the comment!!
