Numbness at allergy injection site

By Qudie Thursday, March 19, 2009

I have been taking allergy shots on both arms for several years. I seem to have a bigger reaction on my left arm quite frequently. Approx. a month ago, I received a shot on my left arm and it became numb on a 3x3 inch square spot on my arm. My forearm swelled and became red and warm; my elbow has been sore as well. All of the reactions except the numbness and soreness of the elbow have gone away. Has anyone had similar? If so, how did you treat it?

I too have been taking shots for year in both arms, right at over 10 years. A week and a half ago, I took my norm, one allergy shot in each arm and as soon as the injection in my left are was complet I felt a burning sensation. The area burned for approximately 2-3 hours. Now the arean is numb and it feels very unusual when I sorta twist my arm. Will I ever get the feeling back in that area of my arm. I am nearly scared to get anymore of the shots.

I have not gotten my allergy shots since then (April). I have been managing my allergies with my allergy meds instead and am doing okay.
