A recent study published this month in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology concludes "that the term "epidemic" can correctly be applied to anaphylaxis, as it is to asthma, allergic rhinitis, and eczema."   If we are experiencing an epidemic of anaphylaxis and other allergic disease...

    >> If You have ANY Doubt as to whether or not Your Child has IgE / Immediate FOOD Allergies i.e. Eat a Peanut = Trouble ...

A simple, Insurance Covered > FOOD Allergy Blood Test will tell you.

Also.. the SAME FOOD Allergy Blood Test can test Your Child for Delayed FOOD Allergy Sources ( Delayed Can NOT be measured via Skin Test.. just Blood )...

    AND...

the same Blood Draw can Test you for ANY Respiratory / Enviro Allergy sources ( See Below Comment ) .. most FOOD Allergy Sufferers ALSO have Enviro / Respiratory Allergies..

Aug. 2008: Some children with food allergies may not be equipped with enough potentially life-saving medication to reverse a severe allergic reaction, according to new research to be published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

When lead author Kirsi M. Jarvinen, MD, PhD, and her colleagues from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, studied the histories of 413 children with food allergies, a second dose of epinephrine was needed in nearly one of five cases of food-induced anaphylaxis. Nearly all the patients who needed multiple doses of epinephrine also suffered from asthma.

Although many children and adults at risk of severe allergic reactions are advised to carry only a single epinephrine auto-injector, "the recommendation to carry two doses of epinephrine should as minimum be extended to individuals with asthma and significant food allergies," Jarvinen writes in her article.

At Parent FOOD Allergy Meetings > I ask ...How many Parents have Children with FOOD Allergies .. Most / All Hands Go UP !

I then Ask >> > How Parents of Children with FOOD Allergies ALSO >  Have a CHILD Diagnosed with Allergic ASTHMA .. at least 70% Raise their Hands ( Ouch ! ).

My Point is...  Once FOOD Allergy is determined ... Child ALLERGY Care is myopically focused / limited on JUST FOODs ..WHILE... the Respiratory / Enviro InHalant Side of the Allergy COIN is allowed to migrate untreated to Allergic ASTHMA !

    Good Health !
