Agonizing Allergies

By Sniffles Thursday, June 17, 2010

Hey everyone, I am new here and just wanted to say hi! I suffer from horrible seasonal allergies and I HATE OTC anti histamines, they don't help, they just mask the pain. I feel as if I'd rather cut my noise off then suffer any longer! If anyone has any remedies or solutions, please let me know! Thanks :)

Have you tried using a "Neti Pot"? This simple device is a way to get a saline solution into your nasal cavities. It works for me, and it's certainly worth a try for most people. It costs about 12 bucks at most drugstores and comes with a good supply of finely ground saline powder that you mix with warm water. It does a great job of clearing junk out of your nose! It goes up one side and down the other! That may sound gross, but it's far better than being stopped up!

Yes i love neti pots, and they help, I just wish the results would stick around longer :)!

I'm sorry to hear that:( Hopefully everything works out for the best, and you can treat it :)! Am I having symptoms of this? I'm going to have to look into it, thanks.

I can't use antihistamines either. But my allergist gave me a nasal spray called Ipratropium, and it really dries up my nose. I'm also using Nasonex, a steroid spray as a preventative.

Have you seen an allergist? They can really help.
