3 year old allergy suffered

My son has a constant runny nose during the day. But what worries me the most is that he has drainage at night, and often coughs and chokes in his sleep. Sometimes he has even vomited unknowingly.
Claritan does not work for his allergy symptoms: running nose, sneezing and drainage. Has anyone used Singulair before, or are there any other recommendations for similar symptoms in a young child.
