I'm excited about my garlic allergy!

By Mel Sunday, January 23, 2011

I'm still feeling pretty lousy this morning. I actually had another awful night of migraines, muscle and joint pain and woke several times during the night because of it. I had to take tylenol just to take the edge off so I could go back to sleep. After reviewing my daily food journal I am pretty sure that GARLIC has been doing me in! I never suspected it before and because I don't really like it that much I don't put it in everything. Lately, I have taken to sauteeing it in olive oil and adding my foods in it. I actually enjoyed eating a few pieces of it really roasted and I thought "this isn't so bad....I kind of like it and it's probably good for fighting the Candida that I have been trying to cure". Here's where everything goes haywire! I started getting really sick this week and thought it was a flu. I felt horrible! Not suspecting garlic I continued to cook and eat with it. I finally pieced it all together as I was feeling worse after I ate. I have been home sick for 5 days with this supposed virus which is not getting better! I can't wait for it to get out of my system to I can start my life without garlic! I am certain that I will be feeling so much better. A few years ago I noticed that onions were doing the same thing and had to stop that! What an improvement. Now it seems that garlic is the enemy too. In thinking back, I remember trying to heal my gut, because I have always had issues, with aloe vera! I also had reactions with aloe vera! After doing some research I found that it is part of the same allium family! So, no scallions, onions, garlic, aloe vera. I also read that people with garlic allergies might also have a problem with extra virgin olive oil. Guess what? I too had reactions after using EVOO on my salads. I couldn't understand why my bladder and extremeties would start burning. I read that it could be the phenols in the olives that are very irritating. I am so happy to have learned all this and feel hopeful that I can finally start to feel better. Once I eliminate all these allergens then perhaps my Leaky Gut has a chance to heal! yeah!
