    I to suffer from itchy hands. I am allergic to shopping carts!  I boil down stinging nettle untill it's in tincture form. about 20 min and let set to cool. There are properties in the nettle that counteract itching. I swear by it. You can also take it internally, although i don't know from experiance on that.I apply if as soon as that nasty itch starts. If I wait it might take a few applications, but it usually stops in 1 to 2 minutes. Atleast it is something you can try without any side affects ( unless you happen to be allergic  nettle!). Good luck. Maybe if you could find the allergin you could aviod it but sometimes that takes awhile. Shopping carts aren't a usual allergin, but other peoples sweat makes me itch, so there's hope for you..
