Dizzyness from hot dogs, ham and some hamburgers.

By joe33334 Monday, October 08, 2007

I have these dizzy spells whenever I eat hamburgers, hotdogs or ham. The spells always last about four days. The first day is the worst. When I wake up I can't get my eyes to focus. I get out of bed and once I am standing the dizziness is tolerable. Until I tilt my head down. This will last 2 full days.

The third day is better and the forth day it's almost gone. (Maybe a nitrate allergy?) I'm not sure; maybe someone could tell me what is in certain hamburger that makes me sick? My blood pressure is always fine during these spells.

Hi Joe,

Doesn't sound like much fun! Your symptoms may be caused by a food allergy, but there's no real way to know for sure without allergy testing, which must be done by an allergist. But first, you may want to contact your family doctor and make an appointment, just to rule out any more serious possible causes for the dizziness.

Perhaps you should try hamburger from grass feed cows or ham from pigs that do not eat genetically modified feed. It may be some chemical in the feed that is making you ill.

Hi,

I am having my AC replaced in my home next week.

Did not want to spend the money but it is old and has mold on it.

Hopefully that will help in some areas.

I stay away from Hamburgers and hot dogs but have noticed that potato chips (some brands) make me feel that way as well. I am pretty sure it is the preservatives.

It alters my moods as well. Like I took some sort of drug.

I stopped mentioning it to people because they think I am a hypacondriac(spelling)

I would prefer symptoms that people could see but I am dealing with it the best that I can..

Thank you for your suggestions.

Joe
