Zyrtec-D is not a flu medicine. Visit the Cold & Flu site to see medicines that are specifically for flu.

Zyrtec is an antihistamine used to relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes and the like. None of those are common flu symptoms, so I don't know why you were prescribed Zyrtec-D for the flu. Go back to your doctor and explain how you felt taking the medication. Perhaps there is something else that your doctor can prescribe.

Any product that contains Pseduoephrine will have a common class effect such as dry mouth. Zyrtec-D is sedating/drowsy and that probably explain your 'hallicination'.

You should discontinue if you experience hallicination, seek medical help. Ask for non-sedating products like Aerius or CLarinase
