Hi Virusremoval,

I totally feel for you, as I too used an allergy medication that was over the counter, but the formulary was changed due to the misuse of the drug. Now I suffer more than I used to because I can no longer use the antihistamine I was using.

Entex was pulled from the market but there are other options available. They may or may not work the same or as well for you. The reason Entex was pulled from the market "was a reported risk of hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in the brain) especially in women." You can read more about that in an article here written by Dr James Thompson, a resident expert here at Health Central. If you would like to see information about some of the other medications prescribed, you can check them out in the drugs database located here.

I hope this helps. Take care and stay in touch. Let us know how you are doing!!

Vicki M

An allergy is the immune system's over-reaction to a normally harmless substance called an allergen.
