My son is 9 and has long qt syndrome and he has a new peditrician. He has been sick and the peditrician gave him allegra D-12 but I checked and it has pseudoephedrine and that is on the list of medicine he can not take. The Dr. gave me a choice of Allegra D-12 or Zyrtec.

Unfortunately, doctors are not always pharmaceutical experts, so it behooves us as consumers to do our homework, which you did. Good for you! If you have been advised NOT to give your child pseudoephredrine, then I would definitely avoid any of the antihistamine-decongestant combinations that include it. You can usually tell these because they have "D" (for decongestant) as part of the name, e.g., Zyrtec-D or Allegra-D. But there are plain Allergra and plain Zyrtec varieties that he can probably take safely. Check with your doctor and/or pharmacist to discuss your concerns in greater detail.
