Q: im 13 and I have a lot of mucus in my lungs too the point where im constantly coughing and clearing my throat my mom says its just allergies since its spring but i think its bronchitis

i think i should go to the doctor but everytime i remind my mom she says its just allergies and gives me dime-a-tap medicine and it doesnt work.My cough started happening about 5 days and has been getting worse by the day

Hi Holly Marie... I hope by now you've convinced your mom to get you some medical attention. Mucus in the lungs is not a symptom associated normally with either allergies or asthma. It's generally a sign of an infection of some kind.

 

But only a doctor can tell you that for sure.
