Q: What can you do if your allergic to the water in your home?

I believe that I may be allergic to the water in my home. When I get out of the shower my face has red patches on it that tend to itch and burn and my body tends to itch and burn too except without the red patches.  Im not sure what to do about this and I was hoping that I could get a few suggestions on how to deal with this or treat the reaction.

                                                                           Thank You,

                                                                                Nicole

Nicole,

Your sensitivity might be to the water, or it could also be to your shampoo, conditioner, or body wash/soap. You'd need to eliminate one by one to see if it makes a difference. You could also get allergy testing done.

In addition, there are water filters sold for shower heads that use a HEPA filter to filter out allergens, etc., so that might also be an option you'd want to try. But I think first I'd look at the cleansers you're using, as they're the more likely culprits.

One final thought -- mold and mildew love moist environments like a shower stall. So, it's also possible that you're reacting to one of those if your bathroom, like many of us, is not absolutely spotless. Smile

To your health,

Kathi

I was having the samje problem. I bought a filter for the shower, and no more allergies. The only problem is that when you open the hose the forse of the water is low, but at least have no more allergies.
