Q: I get an itchy throat when I eat certain textures of food - melted cheese, cheesecake, scrambled eggs. But cold cheese or hard boiled eggs are no problem.

And it seems to be only certain types of melted cheese. Grilled cheese sandwiches cause the itch, but cheese on a burger does not. Melted cheese dip on a chip is no problem. I also frequently get an overpowering sense of sleepyness that begins as soon as I start to swallow and the food hits my throat. The sensation goes away as soon as I've finished swallowing. I have no problem with milk or other dairy products. Is this some kind of allergy, or do certain types of food textures trigger something in the back of the throat, like some weird mutation of the gag reflex?  I've read info about OAS-Oral Allergy Syndrome, but everything I found on that talked about raw foods being the main culprit.

Thanks for any help.
