possibly from some cream cheese I ate that sat out too long?  I would like to know the typical duration of something like this.  I am taking Benadryl but the hives remain. I have no health insurance, so I cannot go to the doctor unless it becomes critical/dangerous.

I had the same thing happen to me.  I was helping my husband carry some cuttings from plants he was trimming.  The next day I had the rash all over my mid section.  I started taking Benadryl.  For the next few days it was still spreading further.  I was ready to go the Dr. I decided to wait 2 more days.  It went completely away in 2 weeks.  I'm glad I waited.  Stay away from the heat and don't scratch, it only makes it worse.
