Q: CAn you get fever from shellfish allergy?

I am allergic to shellfish.  I ate at Red Lobster and ate food that I know had been cooked with shellfish (stupid-I know).  I had diarrhea within hours, minor itching. 24 Hours later I had fever, chills, and body aches, as well as continued stomach cramps and diarrhea.

Fever is a possible symptom of an allergic reaction, but it is not typical.

You may have been coming down with the flu before or as you ate at Red Lobster. Or you may have a case of food poisoning. We cannot diagnose your condition online. It is also difficult to determine in this case what caused your symptoms.

If your symptoms are getting worse instead of better, you should see your doctor right away.
