Q: myson has had cronic hives for years the allergist has done all sort of blood work up and many diffe

my son is now 37 and he has had cronic hives starting in high school, he had them terrible for a year or so and then many years went by no hives and now the past couple of years hives are back everyday. he goes to a good allergist who has done lots of blood works up, his histmine level was over 1100. any ideas the allergist says he has never seen histmine levels so high. Any ideas he has had him of several diff medicines, they help for a while but then the hives are back. Thank you

Dr. Paula Busse has written an entire article here about daily/chronic hives.

 

The cause of these hives can be very difficult to determine.

She does offer some explanations about the condition as well as tips for getting relief.

 

Your son should continue working with his doctor to determien the best relief for him.
