The best way to get your skin to heal will be to stop scratching, but I'm sure you know that. Scratching will keep the scabs open and can also introduce germs into the open wounds. Also, you may need to take a medicine like Benadryl (which can cause drowsiness) or Zyrtec (which should not be mixed with other antihistamines) to control the itching.   To keep the open sores from getting further infected, wash them gently each day with a clean cloth and warm (not hot) water (no soap). Pat dry and leave open to air. Don't pick the scabs off; let them fall off naturally.   Call your doctor right away if any of the wounds show signs of infection, i.e., warmth, redness around them, weeping yellow or greenish liquid or pus, pain.   To your health, Kathi
