I have had in my life 2 Anaphylaxis from medications.

I have had in my life 2 Anaphylaxis from medications. Recently after being diagnosed with PE's I was put onto Clexane (Lovenox), it wasn't long before I was showing allergy symptoms on my skin. Each injection site had large itchy red welts, and a few days later I had an all over body rash. However because of the PE's and because I have a suspected internal bleed, they kept me on this drug for 6wks saying I can't come off it. The problem is over the six weeks I have developed balance problems and problems using my left leg to the point of having to rely on aids. I believe it is all part of the same problem, what do you think?

Hello E.J.,

I would be surprised if your balance and mobility problems are related to an allergic reaction. Those are not symptoms associated with allergies. I would contact your doctor who knows you about these new problems and see if you can make an appointment to be examined.

Together, your doctor and you can figure out what's going on and what treatment approach, if any, to pursue.

Good luck,

Kathi

An allergy is the immune system's over-reaction to a normally harmless substance called an allergen.
