Is there an allergy medicine I can take along with Flovent I use for asthma?

I have asthma and use Flovent. I'm allergic to pet hair and am around it frequently. My chest get tighter and can only take short breaths. Is there an over-the-counter allergy medicine I can take in addition to flovent to help the symptoms?
