Hi Nora,

Definitely sounds as though you have a food allergy! I couldn't find any references on the Web that told what other foods bromelain might be contained in, other than the ones you list. But I did find a couple of journal articles that definitely support the idea of a bromelain allergy, despite the fact that many supplement companies are also selling it as an anti-inflammatory treatment.

With food allergies, often the best approach is just a vigilant record-keeping, where you take note of all incidents of symptoms, along with the food you ingested shortly before. If you ate a variety of foods, then you may need to try each one in small amounts in succession until you pinpoint your exact food triggers.

Alternatively, you can also have allergy testing, which may reveal more specifics about your particular allergies.

To your health,

Kathi
