Q: Comparable Drug to Drixoral Cold & Allergy

Besides what he has to say, I'd like to point out that one of the ingredients in Drixoral is pseudoephredrine, which is used in making crystal meth, an illegal drug. So many pharmacies have either stopped selling medicines that contain it or have taken it off the public shelves and put it behind the counter with the prescription drugs, so that you have to ask for it one box at a time.

 

So, it may still be available if you ask your pharmacist. Still, there are probably better options, as Dr. Thompson says, so a better strategy may be to discuss treatment choices with your doctor.

i have found releif with ClaritanD which has pseudophedrine sulfate and Wal Mart"s equate brand children's cold & cough DM elixir which has brompheniramine maleate ( close to the dexbrompheniramine maleate in drixoral.  unfortunately i have not been able to find anything with dexbromheniramine maleat it it but a least i am back to functioning normally and not flat on my back sick as hell like I have been since not being able to get drixoral. Hope this helps.
