Should Zyrtec be given to children under the age of 6?

Child is being given Zyrtec whenever a runny nose appears in order to avoid cold symptoms developing further.

Hi Cecil-

THank you for your question. Zyrtec can be used in children over the age of 6 months. However, Zyrtec should not be used to prevent a cold from developing. Zyrtec is indicated for use in the treatment and prevention of seasonal or year-round allergies. You can read more about Zyrtec here.
