I dont know whats caused this but im currently experienceing the same kind of thing. for the past 3 weeks my lips have been swelling randomly. usually the top one more often than the bottom. where is the swelling on your lip? mine appears to be on the inside, causing my lip to "stick out" ive been taking antihistamines for a month but these arent stopping it!

hi, im trying to find the same answer. the exact same thing happened to me today my bottom right lip started swelling for no reason. i went to the doctor who rushed me to hospital as he said i had an allergic reaction to something.my breathing became difficult and i almost felt like i was going to die.the swelling increasingly got bigger throughout the day and fluid has een comming out it looks dreadful. the only thing i can think of is it may be related to the blonde hair bleech i put in my hair a few days ago. i have a bad scalp and this could have made its way into the bood stream. be very careful aout the haircolours you use and always do a test first. i did not do the preliminary test

Turned out that I had a food allergy to FD&C Red40.  Not an uncommon allergy, but you'd be surprised how many medicines contain it... TheraFlu is a culprit as well as some other leading OTC cold medicines (even supposedly natural ones).  Even my dishwashing soap had it (the electro-whatever and it's little red spot in the middle)... :)  Weird that they use dyes when they're so unnecessary.  Hope this helps.

An allergy is the immune system's over-reaction to a normally harmless substance called an allergen.
