Hello,   You're right that cat dander can stick around in house dust and on other surfaces for a long time, maybe even for a couple of years. But certainly in a house with bare floors and if you bring in your own furniture, it will help.   I think the risk with this house is real, but the only way to know for sure is to spend some time there. Can you arrange to stay in the house for an hour or so? That should be enough time to know if it will bother you. While you're there, be sure to go in every room and to run the heater and air conditioner.   Also, be sure you have your allergy medicine with you, so that if a reaction begins you can nip it in the bud before it gets out of control.   To your health, Kathi
