Q: I figured out that I'm allergic to Celexa. I'm so itchy all the time and have hives. But It's made such a difference for me. IS there anything that I can take in place of it?

Hi Beth... First off, if you think you are having a problem with a prescription medication, then your best bet is to talk with the doctor who prescribed it about alternatives. But I CAN tell you that Celexa is in a class of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). There are many other SSRIs that your doctor might be willing to prescribe for you, so open the lines of communication as soon as possible!

Best to you,

Kathi
