Hi Joyce,

I would recommend talking with your doctor. Being tired and achey is not normally a symptom of allergies. Sinus congestion may be due to allergies, but chest tightness is again not normally caused by allergies. Tell your doctor about what you're experiencing, as this may be signs of a more serious condition.

Best of luck,

Casey

Hi Joyce,

I wanted to clarify. Actually, being tired is frequently a symptom of seasonal allergies, because they keep you from resting well at night. When you lie down, your sinuses more easily drain into your throat. That and the fact that you may breathe through your mouth because your nose is congested can cause throat dryness and discomfort. Those symptoms, along with the nasal stuffiness and runny nose may awaken you frequently during the night or keep you awake. So, it would be natural to feel tired.

Your history of allergies, along with the chest tightness and coughing make me think of asthma. People who have allergies often have asthma too. Asthma can strike at any age. And the most common symptoms of asthma are chest tightness, coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath.

Plus, asthma symptoms are often triggered or made worse when allergy symptoms are out of control. My advice is that you contact your doctor ASAP to discuss your symptoms and possible follow up.

To your health,

Kathi
