what if RAST show high levels of IgE but no cause?
my childs RAST test showed high levels of IgE 198, but no specific allergy was found. He has many symptoms of allergies including GI and runny nose itchy water eyes ect
In that case, I'd say the RAST confirmed that your child is definitely allergic. So, it provides an explanation for the allergy symptoms you've been seeing. To identify triggers, keeping a symptom diary often helps you to notice patterns in when symptoms occur. And that can help you figure out the culprits. Common allergic triggers include:
- Pollen (big this time of year) from grass, trees, weed
- Molds (both indoor type & outdoor type)
- Animals (furry or feathered dander & urine)
- Dust mites
- Insect waste (especially cockroaches)
