Hello. I am wondering does Eczema come out more when its hot weather. A havent had eczema for a while about a 6 months now and recently a had it in the folds of my arms, backs of my legs, and on my eyelids.

A use Oilatum on my legs and arms but i dont think i can use this on my eyes. Is there anything else i can do to help me get rid of it. Myeyelids are all crusty and flaky and its making me feel down and losing my self confidence because everyone keeps asking me what it is and its got on my nerves telliing them all the time. When i cry aswell it stings feels like aburning sensation but i dont no if this has anything to do with it. i have never had eczema on my face and wondered what could have started it and how a can get rid of it.

Please write back soon.

Wow, my son is going through the same thing.  Yes, it does come out in hot weather, it aggravates it more.  Especially hot showers/baths.  Aquaphor works great as a barrier and a lotion, or Eucerin calming cream.  I put Aquaphor around my sons eyes because they are doing exactly like you are saying.  It didn't work, but it helped as a barrier and keeping it from getting worse.  So his Dermatologist prescribed some ointment for it, which immediately relieved the redness and scaliness.  But it's a steroid, so you can't use it often because it thins the skin.

Hope this helps!  I might have some questions for you since my 2 year old son can't really tell me what he is feeling!

Thanks for the comment. Can you get eczema anywhere on your body?

My friends say i have chapped lips but i dont think it is as it feels itchy and its agrivating as i keep going to pick it. I still have eczema on my eyes and i think i have it on and around my lips. Its mainyl on my bottom lip. I have stopped picking it as i know this can make it go further or spread. I've tryed my oilatum that i use for all the rest of my eczema but im worried that ill end up eating or licking it and this could probably be bad. I dont know what else to try that wont be harmful if i end up eating it.

Any ideas?

Hi Jade,

Heat & sweat can both be triggers for eczema, as can the pollen that's around this time of year. My worst times for my own eczema have always been during the hot summer months. You have to be really careful what you put around your eyes, because it can so easily get into your eyes and irritate them, so I'd check with your doctor for a recommendation. There may be something he can safely prescribe.

To your health,

Kathi

An allergy is the immune system's over-reaction to a normally harmless substance called an allergen.
