if i'm allergic to trees, will i be allergic to tea tree oil?
When you are allergic to trees, it is the tree pollen you are reacting to, and the reaction is in your airways, from breathing in the pollen spores in the air. Tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves of the melaleuca plant. While some people are allergic to tea tree oil, that is a very different kind of allergy, since the reaction occurs on the skin, sort of like poison ivy.
So, it's impossible to say whether you will be allergic to tea tree oil. The allergies would not be related, at any rate. But if you are worried about it, then I would try a very limited exposure through a patch test on a small area of skin, and see what happens. If you don't have a reaction within the first 24 hours, then you are probably OK.
But, for the most accurate questions on issues like this, talk with your doctor, who is most familiar with you and your condition.
