Topics:Alcohol content in Benadryl

I was recently breath tested and had only consumed a very small amount of alcohol, however my reading was slightly higher than I thought. I had taken benadryl around the same time due to suffering from flu, and was wondering if this could have caused the higher reading?

Could you please provide a response.

Thanks,

Chris Andrew

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your question. Benadryl (generic name diphenhydramine) is an antihistamine, and it does not contain alcohol in its formulation. I hope this helps.

Best of luck,

Casey

An allergy is the immune system's over-reaction to a normally harmless substance called an allergen.
