Q: how long does atarax 10mg act in your system

I have periodic itching of the legs.   No signs of a rash or anything.   The only thing that works to stop the itching is atarax 10mg.   No doctor can diagnos the cause.   Do you have any idea?

Hi Jim,

It's impossible for us to give you a diagnosis over the Internet. However, a common cause of itching is dry skin. Could this be the issue for you, do you think?  Drinking plenty of water (at least 8 to 10 8-oz glasses per day) will help keep you hydrated from within and applying a fragrance-free moisturizer 1 to 2 times per day will help from the outside. If that doesn't work, then you might want to get a second opinion from another doctor, possibly a dermatologist to begin with.

Good luck,

Kathi
