I have for 1month now had a really dry/red sore patch under my right eye, I have stopped using all items on my face except aqueous cream to wash & moisturise but it still continues, red & sore, I did 6 months ago have a similar patch under my other eye but again after months it eventually went, this is very time consuming to treat as I am putting Eucerin cream & the aqueous cream on 10 ish times a day to help treat the red dryness. Any idea what it may be? have put off doctors appointment as he will no doubt say yes it's irritated isn't it & that will be that, I am typing this in a vain hope really that someone can advise; its more irritated today & some mornings I can actually see dry skin flakes on it, help anyone....

Hi Smiley,
I am concerned that you may be putting cream on your eye so much that you are worsening the condition. 10 times a day for Eucerin sounds a bit much. There are so many things that can cause skin problems, and the skin around your eyes is very delicate, so it doesn't take much to irritate it.
I would encourage you to make that appointment with your doctor. If you don't feel as though your doctor is taking you seriously, you do have the right to a second opinion. You might ask for a referral with a dermatologist (skin care specialist), since this is a recurrent problem.
It will be much easier for someone who has examined you and seen firsthand what's going on to advise you.

HELLO THERE MY ANSWER MAY BE HELPFUL DO YOU OR HAVE YOU EVER HAD A COLD SORE OR FEVER BLISTER IF SO YOU MAY HAVE TOUCHED AND RUBBED YOUR EYR I DID AND I HAVE GOTTEN THE ROUGH DRY PATCH UNDER MY EYE, BEEN TO DOCTER WAS PRESCIBED ALLERGY DROPS AND IT WENT AWAY, HOPEFULLY THIS WILL HELP,IF THATS NOT THE CASE TRY ALLERGY RELIEF DROPS ANYWAY, PATANOL ALREX,OR ANY OTHER.

Hi,
OMG, I have the exact same condition under BOTH eyes for the last four months! Its dry, scaly and very deep red under both eyes...I've been to my primary doctor twice and a dermtologist twice, with no help. I was given tons of atopical, prescription strength and over the counter medicinal lotions and nothing has helped. Hot and cold water compresses don't help either...This condition started at the end of Feb and I live in the midwest so it was very cold and not due to seasonal allergies, but now that my seasonal allergies are kicking in, they look worse. It looks like Ive been crying, and drinking with no sleep for days! If anyone has experienced anything like this and help please post your answers!!!

I have had this spot under my left eye (look's like I am recovering from a black eye). I have tried everyrhing... Aloe,tea tree oil, camoille tea compresses, expensive creams .....so on.. and on.. What is causing this? No change in diet (healthy eater).... So what is the problem???
