Claritin and Claritin-D both contain antihistamines, a drug that relieves your allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, itchy eyes/nose/throat, runny nose, and sneezing. The difference is that Claritin-D also contains a decongestant, a drug that clears a stuffy nose and/or relieves sinus pressure.

An allergy is the immune system's over-reaction to a normally harmless substance called an allergen.
