My school district wants to do away with Benedryl and go straight to the Epi-Pen. Do you agree?

Benedryl has, so far, taken care of my son's allergic reactions.  It worries me that he would be given an Epi-pen injection first, it seems to severe.  My doctor isn't in favor of this.  Where do you stand? M. Thompson
