mucus that is yellow, green or brown is always a sign of infection. when you wake up in the morning your symptoms are worse because you have been lying down for all those hours, so when you get up the secretions release and come out. they can be coming from your nose or even your chest, get it checked out you may need antibiotics for a sinus infection or even a bronchitis or pneumonia.
